The Dupont Circle station on the Red Line station at Connecticut Avenue and Q Street is about a
20-minute walk away.
Three blocks below Beekman Place to the east along U Street you'll see what was once known as the Black Broadway. After weathering a decline beginning in the 1960s, the corridor from 7th Street to16th Street began its way back up when the city built an office building at 14th and U and Metro opened a station at 13th and U. Phoenix-like, the neighborhood has risen to become home to the restored Lincoln theater, a number of eateries, avant-garde bars, a little theater, antiques, shops, and the like. If you use the Metro, you'll probably find yourself walking this route to 13th and U to meet up with the Green Line.

Stretching from the southern end of Beekman Place some 4 blocks north, the park is an oasis of trees, cascading water falls, lily pond, statues, and many places for strolling, jogging, or just resting on your laurels. You'll likely see many Beekman residents enjoying the many pleasures of this park. It's a great place for viewing July 4th fireworks.
